Privacy Policy
Effective September 23, 2026
GetHide is a macOS app that hides the apps you choose from your screen share. This page explains what data we process, why, and how long we keep it. The data controller is the GetHide service (operated by a private individual), contact: support@gethide.app. Contact: support@gethide.app.
The short version
- Your screen is processed on your Mac only. We never receive or store images of it.
- We don't know your name, phone number or Telegram username — we store only your numeric Telegram ID.
- We don't sell data and don't use ad trackers. The website has no third-party scripts or cookies.
What stays on your Mac
Your settings (which apps to hide, which display to use), a device key and a signed access file are stored in the app's folder on your Mac. The device key never leaves your computer; only its public part is sent to the server. The shared picture goes only to the calling app where you started sharing.
What our server stores
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Numeric Telegram ID and language | Sign-in, one trial per account, bot messages in your language |
| Mac name (for example, “MacBook Air”) and the device's public key | Linking the Mac to your account, verifying requests, disconnecting old devices |
| Trial and subscription dates | Checking access |
| Purchases: plan, amount, currency, lava.top payment number, status | Granting paid time, refunds, answering payment questions |
| Receipt email — only as an irreversible fingerprint | Matching refunds to purchases. We don't keep the address itself |
| Bot messages to you and a log of support actions | Delivering notifications, handling requests |
| Technical request records without IP addresses or page URLs | Reliability and abuse protection |
We don't write IP addresses to the request log. To rate-limit requests, the server briefly keeps them in memory, and during technical failures an address may end up in the error log.
Who else is involved
- Telegram delivers messages between you and @gethideapp_bot under its own terms.
- lava.top processes payments. You enter card details and your receipt email on lava.top's side, under its own policy. We only receive payment confirmations.
- Our hosting provider runs our server and has no access to the data on it.
How long we keep data
Account, device and purchase data is kept while your account exists. Technical logs are deleted automatically, usually within 14 days. Encrypted database backups are kept on the server for up to 14 days; separate encrypted disaster-recovery copies are held by the controller and regularly replaced with newer ones.
Your rights
You can disconnect any Mac with the /devices command in the bot. To get a copy of your data, correct it or delete it, email support@gethide.app and include your Telegram ID (the /whoami command in the bot shows it) — we reply within 30 days. After deletion, your data also disappears from backups as they are replaced. We may keep payment records longer where the law requires it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. We'll announce significant changes through the bot.
